DELIA DI SCHIAVI
March 5, 1929 – January 11, 2018
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce Delia’s passing on January 11th. She is now reunited in heaven with her husband, Ruggiero. Loving mother of Ross (Marie) and Nancy (Louie). Proud Nonna of Laura (predeceased), Marc (Vanessa), Daniella (Vito) and Michael. Much loved sister of Nicola (Teodora) and Vincenzo (Rina) and loving sister-in-law of Beatrice and Ferruccio. Predeceased by her brothers Ruggiero, Quintino and her sisters Clarice and Anita. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Delia was born in Italy and came to Canada in 1961 to build a better life for her family. All who came in contact with her came to know her loving, generous, and caring nature. She will forever be remembered for her incredible baking skills and her beautiful crocheted blankets. Her greatest joy in life was the time spent with her family and friends. Her strength and courage were an inspiration to all. Visitation will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home (211 Langstaff Road East, west of Bayview Ave.) Monday, January 15th from 1–3 PM and 5–8 PM. Funeral mass will be celebrated at The Chapel of St. Joseph – Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home Tuesday January 16th at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Rett Syndrome Association or Sick Kids would be appreciated.
