Life Story for Allan Bjorkman

Allan Bjorkman
Allan passed away peacefully on Friday, November 10, 2017, at Sunnybrook Hospital surrounded by his family after an extended battle with leukemia. He is survived by Mary his beloved wife of 57 years, and his sister Verna Nelson of Winnipeg. He will be greatly missed by his four cherished daughters, Cynthia, Catherine, Linda and Marta (Scott Bramson); his treasured grandchildren, Christina, Danielle, Jennifer, Cameron and Julia; his brother-in-law John Zupko; his many nieces and nephews, and a loving extended family. He is predeceased by his seven older sisters. Al received his Bachelor of Science at the University of Manitoba and earned his MBA at York University. He began his career with Northstar Oil in Winnipeg and was transferred to Toronto where he worked with Shell Oil for more than 30 years. Among his many accomplishments, Al served on the Board of Directors of numerous oil pipeline organizations. Al most enjoyed traveling the world with Mary, and his favourite pastimes included fine dining, playing cards, golfing with friends and oil tycoons, and fishing with the same seven friends for over 50 years all over Canada. The family wishes to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the Odette Cancer Center. Donations in memory of Allan may be made to The Odette Centre at Sunnybrook Hospital.
