Obituary for Severina '"Sally" Gregoris
Severina (Sally) Gregoris
Peacefully, in her 97th year on March 20, 2017. It is with great sadness we bid farewell to our loving Mother, Nonna, and Bisnonna. Mom lived her life with a natural kindness and genuine caring for all. She presumed the best in others and never spoke ill of anyone.
Mom and Dad, the late John Gregoris, celebrated 57 years of joyous marriage-overcoming hardships in Italy during the war and starting anew in Canada.
Mom will be deeply missed by her children: Dr. Loris G. Gregoris (Amalia), Dennie L. Stoeckl (Helmut), and Dr. Dennis Gregoris (Teresa). She was a proud and doting Nonna to Dr. Andrea, Janet, Gregory (Dina), and Erik (Lindsay) Stoeckl, Michael (Andrea, fiancée), Robert (Heidi), John, and James Gregoris. Mom was a devoted Bisnonna to her “stelle”-Benjamin and Henry. She will be missed by her sisters Lidia, Gina, her sister-in-law Norina, and their families in Italy, and her sister-in-law Doreen; her nieces, nephews, and friends in Canada.
We are grateful to the staff of North York General Seniors’ Health Centre for their excellent care of our mother.
The family will receive friends at the Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Road East (west of Bayview Ave.), 905-889-7467 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday March 24th. A mass of Christian burial will take place within the funeral home in the Chapel of St. Joseph on Saturday March 25 at 9:30am. The final rite of committal and entombment will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery (8361 Yonge Street Thornhill).
